The M/N Skorpios III, sets sail every Sunday at dawn from
Puerto Natales, located 247 km to the north of Punta Arenas,
on a five day cruise through
the channels and fjords that border the Southern Ice Field,
in the Chilean Patagonia, which is considered to be the third
largest reserve of fresh water on the planet and crib of the
biggest and most spectacular glaciers in the southern hemisphere.
There are two options to reach the region of the Magallanes:
flying Punta Arenas or of going overland from Argentina. From
this city, passengers must be transferred to the Skorpios
Terminal in Puerto Natales. The maritime route commences through
the Kirke Narrows, moving towards thenorth through the Morla
Vicuña, Unión Inlet, Collingwood, Sarmiento,
Concepción and Wide channels,to anchor in a beautiful
area known as the Eyre Inlet.
The M/N Skorpios III offers all
of that which the passengers require for a well-deserved rest.
There are ample decks, salons and dinning rooms that
have a capacity of up to 130 passengers. A system of simultaneous
English translation for chats with the passengers, as well
as a professional digital
recording system and exhibition of videos of the internal
canals. The Zeus Bar (smoking room), with an English decor
and the Apolo Salon (non-smoking), decorated in a classical
style, provide a warm ambientto share with your traveling
companions, play cards or simply read.

Saturday: Reception
of passengers at Punta Arenas airport, transfer to the Skorpios
office. Check-in. During the afternoon, transfer by bus to
Puerto Natales, arriving at 19.00 hrs. aprox to the Skorpios
Terminal. Embarkation. 20.00 hrs. Welcome drink and dinner
on board.
20:30 hrs. Ship sets sail from Puerto Natales, navegating
the Patagonian Channels, Kirke Narrowness, Channel Morla Vicuña,
Seno Unión. Sunday: During
the morning, we will continue navigating through the Sarmiento
Channel, Pitt Channel and Concepción Channel. 19.00
hrs. Arrival to the Antrim Fjord. Dinner on board. Dancing
Party. Monday: 08.00
hrs Visit to Pío XI Glacier, navegating in front of
the glacier, the biggest of South America, with a surface
of 1263 km2, belonging to the Bernardo O’Higgins National
Park, the biggest national park in Chile.
12.30 hrs Ship weighs anchor from Seno Eyre and Grappler Channel.
16.30 hrs arrival to Puerto Edén, disembarkation in
botes. Two hours excursion, visiting this village, located
in Wellington Island. It’s first inhabitants were the
kaweskar or alacalufes aborigines. This village doesn’t
have any streets, only footbridges, were it is possible to
take a walk arround town and go up to a viewpoint. Ship sets
sail at 18.30 hrs from Puerto Edén, navigating through
the Paso del Indio and Paso del Abismo. Tuesday: 09.00
hrs visit to the Calvo Fjord were we will be able to appreciate
four glaciers, of different shapes and colors. Excursions
in “Hercules” boats (icebraker motorboats). Boats
gets close to the Calvo Glacier, only if the weather conditions
allow so. 13:00 hrs Ship set sail.
During the afternoon, navigation through the Peel Fjord. Visit
to the Asia and Amalia Fjord. 18.00 hrs Ship sights land in
Villarrica Creek, trips on boats, if the weather conditions
allow so. 23.00 hrs Ship sets sail. Wednesday: 09.00
hrs Visit to the Montanas Fjord were we will be able to see
five little glaciers that hook of from the hills to the sea.Walking
towards the glacier Bernal.
16:00 hrs Ship sets sail from the Montanas Fjord, cross of
the Kirke Narrowness, during the night, the ship casts anchor
at Seno Ultima Esperanza. Farewell Dinner and Ball.
Thursday: Navegating Seno Ultima
Esperanza, 08.30 hrs arrival at Skorpios Terminal in Puerto
Natales. 10.00 hrs passengers disembark, transfer by bus to
Punta Arenas.
Additional
Night
Passengers that have decided to take
the additional night, have a courtesy tour on saturday, prior
to departure to the Torres del Paine National Park and visit
to the Milodon Cave.
Friday: Reception
of passengers at the Punta Arenas Airport, transfer to the
Skorpios office. Check-in.
17:00 hrs. Transfer by bus to Puerto Natales, arriving at
20:00 hrs.
20:15 hrs. Passengers embarkation. Welcome drink and dinner
on board. Saturday:
09:00 hrs. Departure by bus to the Skorpios
Terminal in Puerto Natales. Arrival to the Milodon Cave. One
hour visit. Tour continues torwards the Torres del Paine National
Park. Visit to Laguna Amarga and Torres del Paine. Arrival
to the water fall Río Paine. Head torwards Nordenskjold
viewpoint, sightseeing of the Cuernos del Paine. After this,
we will go to the Lago Pehoé viewpoint. Return to Puerto
Natales, visiting Lake Sarmiento, aproximately, at 16:00 hrs.
This excursion includes pic-nic type lunch. Arrival to Skorpios
Terminal in Puerto Natales at 18:00 hrs. Dinner on board.

The
M/N Skorpios III, was constructed in the Skorpios Shipyards
during 1994-1995, under such Chilean and International norms
as SOLAS, IMO, Classification ABS (American Bureau of Shipping),
A-1 Ice, thus granting a high grade of confidentiality and security.
The Cruise Ship is equipped with the most advanced naval engineering
and navigational equipment, sonar, radar, GPS, GMDSS, world
system of maritime SOS, security and lifesaving equipment, fire
fighting equipment, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, banks
of CO2, etc. Besides this a satellite telephone service is available
for the use of all passengers, subject according to current
tariffs.
Services
on Board
All
of the Skorpios services are based on cordial, friendly personal
attention. This characteristic of the people of southern Chile
has become the trademark of our family service, providing
a quality service that meets international standards. Aboard
the Skorpios even the smallest service details are given priority
and importance, aboard the Skorpios. The satisfaction of our
passengers needs is our daily goal.
Amongst the services of the Skorpios that are highlighted
are: (the bar is always open, without additional cost), passengers
can visit all areas of the ship without restriction (from
the machine room, to the control bridge, even the kitchen).
Gastronomical needs are provided for without restriction &
menu changes are accepted without additional cost, games and
reading rooms, smoking and non-smoking bars, bilingual trip
information, simultaneous chat translations, satellite telephone,
cable & public TV & and all of the commodities of
hotelier that correspond to a luxurious service.
The published prices may be modified at the discretion
of the Company.
The passenger who doesn't show up on the time and at
the place specified on the ticket, is not allowed to
complain. There will not be indemnity or any refund
of the amount paid.
SKORPIOS may delay the cruise for up to 24 hours due
to bad weather or any unforseen circumstances, the Company
may cancel the cruise returning the amount paid for
the cruise only. The passenger will not have any right
of indemnities or payments of other sorts.
The passengers, once on board, cannot change their
designated cabin number which is indicated on the passenger's
ticket.
Cancellations within 45 days of the sailings date will
be accepted without charge. After this, the following
refunds will strictly apply:
• 45 days before : 100%
• 30 days before : 67%
• 15 days before : 34%
• 10 days before : 23%
• 09 days before : 0%
Cancellations must be received via telex, fax or telephone
and confirmed in written the same day, this being the
only valid cancellation document. The corresponding
refund
will be made within 30 days of the cancellation date.
The passenger will be able to change the sailing date
only once and 45 days before the sailing date that was
previously set. After this time there will be no change
whatsoever.
Tips are not included in the ticket fare. Those passengers
who wish to express their gratitude in this way can
give the tip to the Captain in a sealed envelope, he
will, according to tradition, distribute the amount
amongst all members of the crew.
SKORPIOS reserves the right to suspend a cruise, in
the event of not obtaining the minimum number of passengers
required for the sailing. In this case the Company will
proceed to refund the amount paid, without any right
to other indemnity, payment or complaint from the passenger.
