Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (40 min.) to valle de Quitor. By foot through the Quebrada del Diablo untill reaching the village of Catarpe. Return by van to Expora (40 min.).

2. Quebrada del Diablo/Vilama:
Length: 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Distance:Distance: 9 km.
Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (40 min.) to valle de Quitor. By foot through the Quebrada del Diablo untill reaching Vilama. Return by van to Explora (20 min.).

Description of terrain: The trail through Cordilleda de la Sal has constant moderate ascents and descents. This area has a lot of loose rock. Lookout point of the Cordillera de los Andes and crossing the Vilama River.

3. Chulacao:
Length: 1 to 2 hours.
Distance: 2 km.
Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (15 min.) to the Chulacao Mine, walk through the Cordillera de la Sal. Return by van to Explora (15 min.).

Altitude: 2,400 Level: medium
Description of terrain: The trail through Cordilleda de la Sal has constant moderate ascents and descents. One section with moderate steepness, views of the oasis of San Pedro and the Salar Descent is down sand dunes.

Option: Walk and crawl through caves (not suitable for people with claustrophobia).
4. Puritama Hot Sprongs:
Length: 2 to 3 hours of walking.
Distance: 7 km.
Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (30 min.) to Guatin, walk through the Quebrada del Diablo and finish at the hot spring at Puritama. Return by van to Explora (40 min.).
Available: Morning. Altitude: 3,000 to 3,500 meters

Description of terrain: The trail with constant ascents and descents, crossing of one river. Varied vegetation Other: Constant exposure to sun. Walk recommended after one or two days of acclimatation in San Pedro Option: Soak in hot springs, with aperitif.
5. Las Cornisas:
Length: 2 to 3 hours of walking.
Distance: 6 km.
Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (30 min.) via old road to Calama. Walk along the cornices of the Cordillera de la Sal. Return over sand dunes of the Valle de la muerte. Return by Van (15 min.).

Description of terrain: The trail with a 30-minute ascent, followed by walking 2 hours approx. on level ground and to lookout points, followed by a descent down sand dunes.

6. Rio Grande:
Length: 5 to 7 hours of walking.
Distance: 14 km.
Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (1 1/4 min.) to pueblo Machuca. Walk along the gorge of the Rio Penaliri until arriving at the Penaliri house (lunch). Later descend through the gorge of Tio Penaliri until arriving at the town of the same name. Return by Van (1 1/2 min.).

7. Rio de la Luna:

Distance: 3 km.
Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (30 min.) to Valle de la Luna. Walk through the Cordillera de la Sal.

Description of terrain: Walk is over relatively flat sandy terrain. Several moon-like rock formations that change their appearance in the afternoon light. The last 10 min. of walking is up an irregular trail to the lookout point.

Description of terrain: Descend a sand dune to continue walking through crusty, salty terrain, followed by a gorge featuring formations made of clay, Gypsum and crystallized salt.

Itinerary: Leave explora in a van (1 hour) via the highway to Calama. The walk begin at the Rio Salado, where we can view petroglyphs decipits Atacaman history. The walk continues until reaching the oasis Cuchabranche. Return to Explora by Bus (30 min.).

Description of terrain: THe first length is an uphill walk, followed by a high , flat trail offering panoramic views of the Quitor Valley and Catarpe.

Itinerary: Leave explora in a van to Guatin (30 min). Walk along the Vilama River Towards the Gatchi ruins. Return to Explora by Bus (20 min.).

Description of terrain: The trail among Vilama river is up and down, with inestable terrain and abundant vegetation.
